Color is BLACK and I wanted dark brown. It’s not even a combo color as stated. Could kind of work if the root growth was minimal. But I found it irritated my scalp. I applied it just in the part area and I was careful not to get it on my scalp because of its black color. As it began to irritate my scalp I tried to carefully scratch. BIG MISTAKE. The color transferred to my fingertips and underneath my fingernails. Had to scrub nails to get it off. The only good thing was the applicator. I love Goldwell products but not this. Wish Goldwell had a better selection of browns.

I love this product! I have a cowlick in the front of my hair that always makes me look like I have a bald patch. I simply pat this on to the area (and along any visible part) and instant thick-looking hair, everywhere! I find this colour is the perfect match for my coppery hair, and the texture is perfect. It goes on easily and stays until I wash my hair next. And, no, it never comes off on my pillow or clothes - even when I sweat. It’s a small container, but it lasts a long time. I’ve ordered this product repeatedly, and even stock up. I highly recommend it!

I'm using the root retouch powder during the "stay at home" period for covid. The medium brown works for me (salon color is goldwell, level 6). The dark brown is essentially black so unless your hair is very dark it could be too much.
