After I wash my hair I rub the serum in my hands. Because I have a lot of hair and it is very, very long, I use quite a bit of this serum, I work it through the ends of my hair. You can use it when your hair is dry too. However, I think that it works best when your hair is still damp. I love this product. My ends of my hair look great. I don't suggest using it all the way up into the roots as then your hair can look flat and greasy.
